What are the 2025 camp dates?
June 10-13 July 22-25 August 12-15
How long are the camps?
Camps take place over 4 consecutive days, Tuesday-Friday, for 3 hours each day. There is a morning session for younger campers, from 9:30am-12:30 pm, and an afternoon session for older campers, from 1:30-4:30 pm.
What age groups may register for camp?
Children ages 6-8 may register for the morning youth camp sessions, from 9:30 am-12:30 pm. Children ages 9-12 may register for the afternoon youth camp sessions, from 1:30-4:30 pm. Campers must be the appropriate age by the start of their first day of camp.
What is the cost of camp?
The cost of camp is $225 ($180 members) per camper. Learn more about memberships HERE.
How do I receive my membership discount?
Your membership discount will automatically be applied to your order when you log in and enter your username and password on the Fernwood registration page.
Does Fernwood offer camp scholarships?
Thanks to generous grant funding from the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation, a limited number of scholarships are available to those in need. Find out more and apply HERE.
What is Fernwood’s cancellation policy?
Space is limited for Fernwood’s summer camps. So please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to cancel your registration. If notified by April 10, Fernwood will reimburse 50% of camp tuition. After that time, the tuition is non-refundable.
What if my child has allergies or needs medication?
Please indicate any allergies or other medical concerns on your child’s registration form. Any medication that your child needs should be reviewed with and given to camp staff at the beginning of each camp session. Medication should be clearly marked with your child's name and include instructions for administration. Your child's medication will be carried with our camp staff at all times.
What is Fernwood’s Covid-19 safety policy?
Fernwood follows the covid safety guidelines put in place by the state of Michigan. To ensure the health and safety of all campers and staff members, if you or your child is sick or showing symptoms of illness, please do not plan to attend camp.
Is lunch provided to campers?
Lunch is not provided to campers. But campers are welcome to bring a water bottle and small snack from home. Water and granola bars/popcorn/fruit snacks will be provided to those campers in need with permission from their parents/guardians.
What should my child bring to camp each day?
Appropriate clothing for weather and outdoor activities. Sun hats, layers, and comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended.
For Art & Mindfulness in Nature Camps: A yoga mat and blanket if you have it. (We’ll have extra mats on hand if needed.)
A water bottle and small snack for you or your child. (Water and granola bars will be provided as a snack to those campers in need, with permission, for youth campers, from their parents/guardians.)
Please apply sunscreen and bug spray to your child before dropping them off at camp.
