Join Dr. Sara Tanis, tree physiologist/forest entomologist and Director of Sustainable Horticulture at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, for an interpretive walking tour where you’ll learn all about 

Fernwood’s incredible array of tree species, from vital natives to rare exotic specimens. We even have a tree that has traveled to the moon and back!

Each year, Fernwood invites visitors to participate in a special tree planting ceremony to celebrate these life-sustaining wonders of nature.
