“Autumn Brilliance,” an exhibit by members of Northern Indiana Pastel Society, continues through Oct. 31 at Fernwood in the Clark Gallery.
The pastel show includes 35 works by 20 artists. Landscapes, portraits, florals, still life paintings and abstracts will be on view. The autumn theme represents the time of year the exhibit takes place, and Fernwood’s colorful environment as well as the autumn views depicted in some of the artwork.
Based in South Bend, Northern Indiana Pastel Society is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies and is the only pastel society in Indiana. Members come from Michigan as well as Indiana. Meetings are held regularly, and several shows are held during the year. Info: nipastelsociety.org
New work by Susan M. Ward will be on display in the Trillium Hall. The sculptures are created from a variety of materials including reclaimed wood and found objects.
Gallery hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The galleries are open to the public for viewing at no charge.
Reception with awards will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. It is a FREE event. Food and wine will be in the main Clark Gallery where the awards will be handed out for the participants of the Northern Indiana Pastel Society exhibit. A reception Susan M. Ward will take place in the Trillium Hall, also from 1-3.
