Presented in partnership with WVPE, the annual Fernwood Friday Concert returns with National Recording Artist and contemporary jazz saxophonist Kris Brownlee. Although best known for his versatile skills on saxophone, he is equally comfortable in his studio as a film composer and producer. Kris doesn’t play music; he entertains, entertains, entertains, and has regularly captivated audiences on the popular club and festival circuits for years. Audiences love to hear how Kris infuses his legit/bebop jazz chops with modern grooves. Kris has performed/collaborated with many top jazz artists, including The Rippingtons, Jonathan Fritzen, Jiggs Whigham, Elizabeth Mis, Harry Watters, Victor Haskins, Gabriel and Eddie Severn, and many more.
Doors open at 5 pm, concert from 5:30-9 pm. Please bring your chairs, unless it rains. Then the show will be moved indoors to Fernwood’s Gallery. Food & beverages available for purchase.
Free to Fernwood & WVPE members. $5 non-members. Online pre-registration is encouraged.
RAIN POLICY: Fernwood will move the concert inside our gallery if it rains. We can accommodate 150 people, so it's first come, first seated. Doors open at 5 pm. The concert starts at 5:30 pm.
