FLOWER PRESS WORKSHOP

MAY 17, 1-2:30 PM

Pressing flowers is more than just a fun hobby or way to create decorative art-making materials. The practice can also help document plant diversity and be an important tool for scientific research and conservation efforts. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll get you started in creating your own collection of pressed botanical specimens by providing you with all the materials and instructions needed to build your own flower press. We’ll peruse notable plants preserved in Fernwood’s herbarium for inspiration and venture into the gardens to look for fresh plant samples to add to your press.

Audience: Teens-adults

Location: Flora Wing of the Sims Education Center

Cost: $40 ($32 members) Please register by May 14
